From a young age I struggled with loneliness and depression. But it was during those times in the valley when I sought Him. And it was there He found me and Loved me. This life is a journey and this blog is about my journey. It's about finding Him in everything. It's about learning to hope, love, and forgive. It's about my daily ups and downs, my sweet kitties who bring me so much joy, and my amazing husband who I am honored to share my life with. It's about learning to cook and hoping to one day be a back up dancer for the Black Eyed Peas. It's about my passion for creating and crafting. It's about my struggles and prayers and funny stories. It's about ...redemption.

What happens when you don't pay your tickets?

I guess enough time has gone by now that the shock has worn off and I can tell this story without crying.

It all started last Monday night. Scott had borrowed my car and I needed to be at work early the next morning so I "un-politely" asked him if he could put gas in my car.

It was around 6 pm and I decided to hop in the shower. I thought about how I was a tad short with Scott so I hoped nothing bad would happen because I sent him out at night to get gas.

I got out of the shower and Scott still wasn't home. I take about a 15 minute shower.

I went to the kitchen and warmed up some dinner for us and 20 minutes later realized Scott still wasn't home!!!

I started to get worried so I called him. No Answer. I called again. No answer. I called three more times and then I officially started to panic! My heart started racing and I feared he was in a car accident and possibly dead and the last memory he had of me was not really a pleasant or loving one!!!

Oh Lord!

I told my brother I was worried and I was going to go look for him. I had my robe and slippers on and my hair was soaking wet. I started to reverse down the drive-way and was panicking so hard I couldn't breathe. I stopped to catch my breath and my phone rang.

It was Scott.

I exhaled and answered the phone almost in tears.

B: "Where are you? Are you ok?"
S: "Well, um... apparently I had a warrant out for my arrest"

WHAT!?!

Back in 2006 Scott received a citation for an expired registration sticker. He paid it through the mail, but never really confirmed that it was taken care of.

So here we are 3 years later and he's sitting in the back of a cop car... in handcuffs... getting ready to be taken downtown... to jail!

Wow! wow.

Scott said that if we had any money on the credit card that the cop would let me pay over the phone and he could come home tonight. I checked both our credit cards and didn't have enough on either one.

So I called mom and dad.

The cop was nice enough to let them pay over the phone so Scott didn't have to be taken downtown.

Whew!

Scott said that the cop was scanning license plates and had already arrested several people. When he searched our car he noticed my Starbucks aprons and asked Scott why he didn't tell him that he worked at Starbucks!

Scott told him that actually I worked there and the cop said if he had known that he wouldn't have started processing him and he would have let him go.

(For those of you that don't know, Starbucks gives cops free coffee) ;)

Anyway, after much worrying, an hour spent in the back of a cop car, and $551 later, Scott was home free! But not before he gassed up the car.

Thanks mom and dad.

So kids let this be a lesson to you. Whenever you pay via mail, always make sure the payment is received!
